Push till we stretch

... stretch till we break...? How to avoid stress & burnout when you boss just refuse to listen to manpower woes... solat.

2nd Ramadan night was truly challenging for me. After the Covid19 second dose vaccination I caught the flu or rather the body reacted by getting a fever. Yet I had to go to office for audit and UMC. I was hoping to take an mc but amazingly work kept me at my desk. My nose was dripping like a malfunctioning tap.

Upon returning from office and collecting the kids from daycare in heavy rain which took us a journey of 1.5h back home intensified by the after office hours rush back home to prepare iftaar, I stood for another hour to prepare iftaar, break fast then rested after taking 1000mg paracetamol. Knocked out until 10pm, got up to prepare dinner. By this time the husband returned from his terawih.

Fed kids & myself then washed up, emailed an assignment to colleague, did a 4 rakaat terawih with 3 rakaat witr & thought to leave off steam writing here.

I’m going to take an mc tomorrow just to be safe meanwhile write the reports for grants & QBR. I’m sure it’s the loratidine working for the sneezes now. I need to get up at 5am for suhor for the husband too who is knocked off after his 20 rakaat terawih.

I belief in moderation. One of the reasons I embraced Islam besides the aqidah.

Photo of 1st suhor: paratha, milk, banana & dates.
