The fruits of resilience

When my boss announces that he wants to train me, there’s a fine line between happiness & terror which I felt running through my spine. For one I had asked him to coach me for an MBA, on the other hand, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, he’s the tough love kind of mentor. “I’ll chuck you in the forest and we’ll see how long you can survive... without intervention”. So it started since Dec last year.

There were tears, name calling, extreme detail work bullying, increased workload, no additional manpower, restructuring, and the expectation to self-learn the art of engagement. Did I complain? I did not complain but I had requested 3 times for additional manpower after and before one of my assistants quit 24h. The answer for the last request = don’t be so stubborn.

So this Ramadan is different, I found solace in the sharing of yaqeen institute’s founder Dr. Omar Suleiman. It so made sense and inspired me to continue on with my plan to revive the migrant workers health colloquium this Dec.

let’s hope for the best!!
