Al-fatihah

Reminiscing the first Quran gifted to me by Prof. Ali Hassan, my ex co-supervisor during masters.

Reminded me how blessed I was to be amongst the practicing Muslims those times. Where support was abundant and brotherly advice was generous. No flicker of envy nor animosity was apparent.

Changing times.

These days as I grow more mature in the faith, tests are a normal part of daily life. I take it in stride as a training module God given to mould me into a better Muslim. A test of faith, deep as the oceans or surface thin, crips and brittle.

Yet I fail to rediscover the innocence of the first few months of knowing Islam, where reciting verses of the Quran for prayers were as fast as a toddler learning how to call his mother. MashaAllah subhanAllah... I pray that I my rediscover the easy innocence of one pure just learning the way of the truth via the word of God, the noble Quran in these nights of power. Ameen.
