We celebrated on a small scale among ourselves the 7th birthday of Emir. He was elated to receive gifts from us and his sister. This somehow replaced his disappointment for not being able to sing and celebrate his birthday at school especially when another classmate who shared the same birthday and same first name celebrated his birthday in class with party bags. Sorry Emir, mum don’t have the budget or the time capacity for shopping and packing 40 goody bags this ramadan. We make up for it at home.
Iftaar was had outside today at Spicy … (something). They had a cosy small surau upstairs for maghrib prayers so that was accommodating. At home we gave Emir his gifts and cut his favourite birthday cake together. Alhamdulillah may he grow to be healthy and strong, intelligent and faithful. That is enough.
I completed reading Surah Al Baqarah today. Tomorrow will continue with Surah Al Imran… in Arabic. This is my first time reading the Quran in Arabic. Alhamdulillah
