09 Ramadan 1430h - Al-Fatihah

Venue: MIH, Manchester

Suhor: A cup of milk, a slice of bread with chocolate spread, a banana, a date
Iftaar: Dates, water
Dinner: Steamed rice and ginger with spring onions, fried leak and chicken, orange juice

The opening. So I decided to recite the al-Fatihah in my blog, surprisingly, I can't even get to the second line and I forgot it. Imagine, I was thinking, if during the prayer I didn't have a problem reciting it but when I sit in front of the laptop I forget. Oh Allah, protect me from my forgetfulness!

So I went on IslamOnline.net and listened to the al-Fatihah. I decided to memorise 8 more surahs during this ramadan, inshaallah. They are:

94 - al-inshirah / ash-sharh (expansion)
97 - al-Qadr (decree / destiny)
103 - al-Asr (time)
105 - al-Fil (the elephant)
106 - Quraysh (the tribe)
107 - al-Maun (assistance)
110 - an-Nasr (victory)
111 - al-Masad / al-Lahab (fiber / flame)

I plan to concentrate on al-Asr first. Inshaallah, it will be easy.

Mashallah, I recalled which surahs I knew by heart and they are 6, including al-Fatihah. They are:

108 - al-Kawthar
109 - al-Kafirun
112 - al-Ikhlas
113 - al-Falaq
114 - an-Nas

Inshaallah... the rest will be easy for me.

Today, I got up at 12. It is not at all praiseworthy. I wanted the warmth of the bed longer. If I left the bed earlier, my feet will get cold sooner so I decided to lie in. It is not often this happens, I think this is the first for this year. I have no idea why my feet get cold easily, they become icy cold, sometimes I think they may fall off if I did not rub them to get some warmth back.

It is a Sunday, I will stay in. There is no need to cook as so much food from last night was left. Tomorrow is Malaysia's 52nd Independence Day celebration. Yesterday was Manchester City's Pride Festival. I remembered I saw it last year, the parade of semi-naked men, old and young, the celebration of gay rights apparently.
