11 Ramadan 1430h - "Jom Solat"

Suhoor: Banana chocolate on toast, a cup of hot milk, dates
Iftaar: Water, dates
Dinner: Aubergines-cucumber-tomato-mozzarella-cheddar kebabs, garlic naan, baked haddock.

Struggled to get up this morning, morning after the sun rose that is. part-time sleeping isn't doing any good is getting me up early. Got to lab by 11am, did experiments, had a word with supervisor and as usual... more work.

Invited Hani for Zohr prayers together at north campus mosque. That's the reason for the "Jom Solat", it simply means, "let's pray".

Did some data processing in lab and came back by 7pm-ish...and decided to use up vegies in fridge for something fun to share with housemates during dinner.

It was a fun trial making the vege-kebabs. I marinated the cuts of aubergines, slices of cucumber with lime juice and sunflower oil. arranged them in neat lines on the oiled baking tray, then stacked them up layer upon layer alternating with cheddar and mozzarella cheese, yummy! Then apprently they were a bit tall and shaky so Rosa recommended sticking a tooth pick through them to avoid a vege-earthquake, good idea. Baked at 180C for 20 min and we had a fun time eating together.
