12 Ramadan 1430h - the woman and the Quran

Suhoor: Oats in milk with raisin, honey and banana.
Iftaar: Garlic naan, kidney bean in cheese and tomato, aubergine-peanut butter chutney, a cup of milk
Dinner: Chicken fried rice and orange juice

Today is so tiring even though I did not go to lab. Instead I had to go to the visa submission centre and they told me to go back and get a year's bank statement. So i came back said zohr prayers and walked to the bank, ordered a statement. It was raining. Wanted to submit the Urdu language application form, so walked to the LEAP office to find person on holiday and will be back tomorrowm ironically but closing date is...today. Will give LEAP a call tomorrow. A bit puffed up and tired, decided to take bus back, ended up shopping for groceries.

On the way back in bus saw a lady, a hijabi... i call a lady who wears the hijab a hijabi...i used to be one... i guess, i may revert back to it one day, inshallah. She was standing waiting for the bus and reading the Quran. It was a sight to ponder on. Not many would one find at the bus stop waiting for the bus reading the Quran especially when it is also raining. She sat next to me in the bus... i was tired, tried reciting the Qunut over and over again at least my thoughts are not empty. Empty thought are the devils playground. So continued reciting some surahs and duas.

I figured... i should be bringing and reading the Quran too especially during this holy month... i felt a tinge of shame. And I felt I missed the hijab.
