In my tweet I mentioned about thank God for friends, food, support and health. Alhamdulillah. What can one ask for more when blessed with those things which money cannot buy! Sehri was a banana, dates, chai and water. Energy boosters.
We are taking rounds at the weekends to have iftaar together. Today began the rounds with Mazeen hosting us. Iftaar was traditional. We sat on the floor, plates, food and drinks laid out. The men on the right the children at the ends and middle and ladies on the left.
There was juice, water, mint cocktail for drinks. Dates were served on oval flat plates. Next were black chana, matar, aloo tikki, pyaz pakora, fried chicken fillets, fruit cream, mince chicken puff, imli chutney and green chutney. It was good. Alhamdulillah
After iftaar we did maghrib prayers then sat for chats over chai. There were about 30 of us. 7 families. Then we did ishak followed by 8 rakaat terawih and dinner was served. The men went to the nearby surau for their last prayers.
Dinner was mutton pilau, nihari, roti, and salad. It was good. Alhamdulillah followed by ice cream. MashaAllah
We always look forward to Mazeen’s invites. Next week shall be at Madiha’s.
The day was great, after sehri I did some admin work and follow ups. Then went grocery shopping at 9.30am with kids while the husband continued his sleep. Came back by 12.30pm. Managed to buy kids raya clothes and meat for kebabs and rolls. Some cleaning items, detergent, rice and spices, sugar, salt, bread and vegs for the week. Napped after zohor, cleaned the house and bath before leaving for Mazeen’s.
Definitely the early bird catches the worm.
