Ramadan 17 - Debate dinner

If someone asks you about Islam, will you feel uncomfortable or you jump at the chance to talk about the deen which progresses you in every way possible?

I believe you are on the right track.

So the debate started between my cousin and me. He calls himself a Catholic.

I cite the above surah and its accompanying tafsir. It is a powerful one on Isa and how the other major prophets relates to the era and society they live in. God given gifts fitting for the time they live in for the sole purpose to prove to their people that God exist and is the only One. So I shared this with cousin and reinstated that Jesus is not God. Silence… to be continued.

Iftaar was at Ambreen’s place. It was elaborate as always it is with Ambreen. We were sitting on the floor arranged separately for adults, the children and the older generation. Sitting for adults were in 8x2, women on the right and men on the left. Children in similar arrangement separately seated. We had samosa, buns, fruit custard, cholay, pakoras with accompanying chutneys and dates. In drinks we had fruit water spiced with mint and rock salt and sugar. Ultimate. Intricate. Followed with chai after maghrib prayers. The we waited for solat ishak and terawih before seating for dinner.

Dinner was matar pilau, chicken curry, shami kebabs and roti and salad and dahi bhada. As always Ambreen’s arrangements were one of the best. Always enjoyed. Alhamdulillah. Halfway mark passed for Ramadan 1444h. Let us do better for the last challenging days. Next week my turn to host iftaar for about 30 people and with my in laws around. InshaAllah.
