And We send not the messengers except as bringers of good tidings and warners. And those who disbelieve dispute by [using] falsehood to [attempt to] invalidate thereby the truth and have taken My verses, and that of which they are warned, in ridicule. ~ Al Kahf 56.
And who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord but turns away from them and forgets what his hands have put forth? Indeed, We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And if you invite them to guidance - they will never be guided, then - ever. ~Al Kahf 57.
The above verses tell about how man, no matter how much have been given guidance and reminded thereof, choose not to believe. As is human nature man is also forgetful. We need to be reminded. Hence this is why many messengers and prophets have came and gone and many books have been sent. We still choose to dispute till this day.
And can we change this? No. If God has cause them to defy no mortal can change it. But does it mean we stop reminding? No. It is a duty we are bound to, a duty to remind and inform. Allahulam

If we stop being kind to one another then it is time for a revisit of the relationship. A time for a pause to reflect where our journey is going. A quiet pause for resetting priorities and feelings. A retreat away from each other to put it to the test.
If we stop being kind to each other then it is better to give each other time. If by time it does not get better and no kindness blooms then it is time, time to refresh and restart anew. For this life is short, not for selfish intentions nor is it a life to live for others. It is a life to be lived for a purpose based on truth and trust for once we are no more here it is only our deeds which will be remembered and with that the kindness which extends for others to continue. Why should be struggle to keep one another happy when there is an easier and better way to give back and make oneself useful for the community. Then we don’t have to be called selfish because it is time for a higher purpose no longer just a purpose to serve the man.
Allah knows best
