17th Ramadan - The Prophets

Suhur was pressed rice cereal with yogurt, banana and dates followed by water at 5.30am. MJ joined me and that is good. I did not need to force her to get up. EJ got up on his own at 6.05am during Fajr adhan and he too had pressed rice cereal with yogurt but without dates and banana. Perhaps both will be able to last the day’s fast until iftaar at Halimah’s place.

It is Nuzul Quran today and here it is a public holiday. I was not well last night and took paracetamol and citrazine to cure the cold with enough rest today. Alhamdulillah.

Finished surah Al Anbiyah today. It was the chapter on the Prophets. The stories within describe how Allah saved His fervent believers who are the Prophets and messengers. Similar attributes were described by all the Prophets therein. These were believing, patient, persevering, asking for forgiveness, oft returning and never giving up faith and hope with stoic patience. mashaAllah.

Constant believe in the one God is key to Islamic monotheism. All the Prophets who follow through time are informers and reminders to the truth. They are not to be worshipped. May this day be a reminder on such patience, devotion and submission of the Prophets of God to the One religion as mentioned in Al Anbiyah 21:87,88,92.

Just to note, Mariam was the only woman mentioned directly in surah Al Anbiyah who was among the obediently submissive. (21:91).
