18th Ramadan - Friends & Family

I visited mum today. My heart ❤️ felt like it. I have been asking her when would she be visiting but it took too long for her to get down to it. There was always something to do at home she says. So this morning after dropping the kids at school and daycare I drove all the way there and reached at 9.30am. Dad was sweeping the road in front of the house. He was pleasantly surprised and told me to go in to see mum. I found mum still sleeping in her room and I lay down beside her while calling ‘mom’. She roused and was surprised to see me beside her. I missed her. 

We chatted and she prepared breakfast. Since I was fasting I gave her company. Brother was also there. What a coincidence. After a while uncle kim dropped by for an unexpected visit. It was really nice seeing him again after so many years. He is 70 this year. Mum is 67. Uncle kim is mum’s elder brother. 

After some time I took their leave to drive back to office then home. Kissed both goodbye and drove back. Settled final rites and clearance with HR in office and said goodbye to Fern, the only colleague left in office at 5pm. Drove back to Shah Alam from Sepang. Along the way chatted to friends and was happy I had them around, alhamdulillah. 

Reached home just in time to break fast at 7.30pm. It was EJ’s 8th birthday, he was waiting in anticipation. This morning I gave him RM10 and told him to get himself anything he wanted from school and he showed to me - a multi ink pen. He returned RM6 to me. How sweet. After iftaar we got ready and went to the mall for cakes. That made his day 🥰. Meeting mum made my day 😍. Alhamdulillah
