We are a people of one religion. But we divided it. These are from the surah of the believers. Strong reminders to those who compare each others’ beliefs. God unites, human divides. It is human nature to see differences and categorise and create sects.
These sects maybe called religions, race, colour, parentage, practices, cultures, traditions, castes or lineage. All reflecting differentiation of the human race. Our souls have no differences except for the good deeds we collect. Souls all look alike. No gender, equally rejoicing the one God.
Today is a day of freedom from formal office. From working under a boss. What I did today was purely from myself and for family and ties. To strengthen ties. I went to the kids’ school to request support letter for MJ in order to pay the levy for non citizen students. Then went to order hampers to gift. Then came home to collect visa collection receipts before moving out again to meet a friend at procurement who I chatted for a couple of hours then made my way to the Chinese visa centre to collect our passports and Chinese visas. Next drove to FP to drop books and postal envelopes and fruit hamper so that they can assist in delivery in case there are orders then drove back home and to MSU to collect a book from another friend which was overdue to be returned asap to the public library. It started raining heavily when it was time to pick the kids from school. That done came home, did solat, rested for nearly an hour before maghrib. It was a really packed day and still have not packed the bags for the trip to China.
Let’s celebrate the last 10 days of Ramadan reflecting on the Quran. Where ties are strengthened with gifts and matters of the heart settled with remembrance of the most high God.
Oh btw, some glimpses of reaction I saw today from ex colleagues at level 16 says a lot about how the hijab stereotypes base on religion not iman. Iman is within and friends at level 1 were more welcoming in that case.
