22nd Ramadan - Packing

Tomorrow is the flight to China. North of China. Between North Korea and Mongolia. It will be my first to China also for both the kids. The father is there on his 3 month tenure as an academic so it is just natural to have the kids visit him for Eid. The total cost of flight and visas were RM5k. Significant if I had changed my mind not to go. But why not? New place and travelling is good. It is also encouraged to have an open view of cultures and practices in order to appreciate and learn the diversity among the human race. Yes, love travelling - it gives loads of lessons and heightens our tolerance.

Furthermore I’m self employed now so no issues with the employer unless I have issues with myself. I like travelling because it provides me new ways of thinking and space to link and play with ideas across domains. Exciting to discover patterns which is beneficial in my specialisation especially now that I’m pretty sure where I would like to build my career in. Sustainable communities.

Iftaar today from outside

Fetched the kids from school today. It was a good day spent reading the Quran, packing the luggages and settling MJ’s school levy and registration at the state education department. Something which I wasn’t able to focus on when I was working at the other uni.

Did I do any charity today? Perhaps being compassionate to myself today. This is also important. I forget most of the time. Took both cars out for a spin today before the 3 week lull. Enjoying the quiet and solitude when kids are at school. Best time for reflection.

Alhamdulillah
