Suhoor: ~overslept~ (again!!)
Iftaar: Milk and honey, ginger cake
Dinner: Arab bread with chicken patties and potato chicken curry, a slice of cheddar cheese to nibble, some cucumber and carrot slices.
The conscience, if trained, will teach the body to behave.
I was planning to qada' the zohr salat today. Why? because I couldn't find the time to walk all the way to the mosque and back in time for the next presentation. Shameful excuse when my theme is 'the world is my mosque, my prayer mat'....
It was nearly 4pm and I was sitting in the next room of the presentation waiting for it to end so that I can save the file onto my thumb drive, about 45 min to Asr prayer time. I saw a girl in the room, it was empty and she was standing donning a green scarf for the zohr prayer. I have not done mine yet... I felt ashamed. If she can do it here why can't I? I heard my conscience say accusingly and guiltily I agreed. I sat in front of the pc while she finished her prayer and I asked her how she knew it was the qibla' and she said she lives nearby and she roughly knew. She was not a hijabi... just like me. We struck a small conversation and after she left, I took my wudu and did my zohr prayers, it was 20 min to Asr, late. But better late than never.
It was overwhelming, the sight of another in prayer. It became a source of reminder, a source of motivation. It quenched temptation to play truant and almost like a shield to the lapse of prayer. Thank Allah for the reminder, indeed, alhamdulillah.
Yeah, so I overslept again and missed suhoor. It was too tiring yesterday, must try to sleep before midnight today. Must not miss suhoor again, inshallah.
