3rd Ramadan - Stay home

Mix iftaar

The kids were not in the mood to go to school today. Especially Emir whose eyes were so watery because of some allergy thanks to Maisha who played with cats after music lessons last night and she did not wash her hands before getting into the car. Got up and had suhoor of dahi and chura with bananas. Wholesome. Emir did not make suhoor on time so I advised him to keep half day of fast which he made. So glad for him. Even more glad with Maisha who managed her 3rd day of fasting from food today. Nevertheless both came home with hunger pangs. Well that’s a part of Ramadan- feeling hunger.

A friend called today to have a chat on why I removed my headscarf. It was personal and because I was wearing it for more than 10 years, people who knew me were shocked. I don’t blame them. Living a cloistered life would shield you from a lot of what life can throw at you and one of them is this. I shall stick to it for now.

Also called a friend who recently lost her mother for a chat and managed to squeeze in making lunch and getting groceries before an online meeting.

I worked from home today and happy I did as I saved 3-4 hours of transit time and saved fuel and saved on toll. I was more productive and managed to keep up with some work for PSU and IEC. RMC for MyRA was also discussed with HR on data confidentiality. Tomorrow is back to campus with many face to face meetings. Cheers!

Today also I received back about 500 books of EmmaIhsan’s investment with Prof. Makmor Tumin and think that I should not continue this. His books take time to sell and I’m afraid this form of charity is making a huge hole in my savings. Time to end this project and get serious about my 2nd book and looking for a new job.
